Dax McClellan

center content

When Dax McClellan was 3 he had 3 things on his Christmas list: Army guys, legos, and tattoos. He ran out of preschool his first day to draw aliens and at age 13 he was introduced to a tattoo machine, which he was strongly magnetized toward. At age 18 he tried to get an apprenticeship, and his dreams were crushed by his idol as he was told, "Go get a real job, you'll never become a tattoo artist!"

Rather than let that get him down, he decided to let it fuel him and from that day forward he decided to ignore the naysayers and do whatever it took to learn how to become a recognized tattoo artist.

Taking a stand about the old-fashioned closed attitude of so many tattooists, he's dedicated himself to a lifetime of inspiring and mentoring other artists and bringing consciousness to revolutionalize and innovate the tattoo industry. His main goal as an artist is to provide value and give encouragement to those who are eager to learn how to take their skills to the next Level.

At age 25 he's doing alright, leading the artists at his shop, Savage Tattoo in Ogden, Utah, while also mentoring over 30 artists around the world through his Online Portrait Training System. At this stage he feels that he's just getting started.
